Almost anyone who matches one of these three categories could benefit from LinkedIn services:
- Has no LinkedIn profile or only a bare-bones version.
- Hasn’t maintained or updated the profile in several weeks or longer. (It’s not a once-and-done, put-it-up-and-leave-it proposition. That’s a waste of time.)
- Plans to start a job search soon and knows the existing profile is on “life support”—that is, will make a poor impression on employers.
My services can solve one or more problems for you, including these:
- Help you understand the importance of a robust online presence and show you how to get it.
- Attract desirable attention by raising employer awareness and visibility.
- Avoid missing potential job opportunities because employers don’t see you in search results or are not impressed by what they find.
I realized several years ago that LinkedIn had grown into a powerhouse for gaining visibility with employers. Adding it to my business enabled me to offer clients a high-quality service to energize their job search, along with a professional résumé and cover letter.
If your goal is to conduct a successful job search (interviews and job offers), my services can give you a boost in that direction. What’s more, they can achieve it with less stress than if you tried to do it by yourself.
These services will increase your visibility and credibility with employers that find your profile, so they see that it could be worthwhile to contact you. The services will help you avoid the “knee-jerk rejection” that a missing or inadequate profile triggers. LinkedIn services can also help you understand the importance of a strong network and how to use that to your advantage.
Who decides if your LinkedIn services are right for me?
You do! If you have any doubts, discuss them with me. I don’t believe in over-persuading people, so if it doesn’t seem this service is right for you, we won’t include it. You can always reconsider later.
Note that I won’t create a LinkedIn profile for someone whose résumé I haven’t done, because it makes as much work and takes as much time as creating a résumé. That requires me to charge more than I would if it were part of the initial package.
How you can get started with my LinkedIn services?
If we have discussed LinkedIn or if I see that your existing profile is not where it should be to present you well, I will include it in my quote for recommended services. You have an option to accept or reject the recommendation. If you accept, it becomes part of the information-gathering process we go through to launch your project.
I have had positive feedback from clients about the reaction to their profile from employers. Will a profile alone (without a résumé) get you an interview? Maybe not, although I believe it has been known to happen.
What are the costs for your LinkedIn Services?
Ideally, you should view this as an investment in your career, because that’s what it is. Practically speaking, however, the short answer is that it depends. As a standalone item, it might range between $400 and $600, depending on the type and level of position you’re pursuing. However, as I mentioned, I don’t provide a profile if I haven’t done the résumé. Most of the time, it’s part of a larger package that includes a small reduction from the standalone amount.
